Facility Maintenance and Grounds Technician

We are looking for a reliable Facility & Grounds Maintenance person to help keep our buildings in a clean and orderly condition and assist with facility maintenance. The Facility Technician ensures the physical aspects of the YMCA are maintained and standards are met regarding the grounds, amenities and overall curb appeal and provides support to the service team members.

  • Job Type: Full-time non-exempt-35 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:00am – 3pm & some weekends)
  • Salary: $9.50 to $10.00 /hour

 

Facility Housekeeping

We are looking for a part-time housekeeper at our Albany Branch. Position will sweep and mop common area, sanitize and clean showers and restrooms, wipe down surfaces and windows daily, and maintain daily cleaning check list. Position is also responsible for reporting cleaning supply stock, report and document any observed know hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices and procedures. Must maintain a copperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers, and members.

  • Job Type: Part-time-10-15 hours per week
  • Salary: $7.50 /hour

 

Facility Floor Technician

We are looking for a part-time floor technician. Postion will ensure cleanliness and proper application of floor chemicals to assigned areas. Maintain supplies and Equipment and reports re-order to supervisor. Adhere to pre-assigned schedule of cleaning duties/floor tech duties. Conduct various methods of floor care such as, scrubbing, recoating, and stripping. Notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions. Adhere to assigned cleaning/floor maintenance schedule. Qualifications: Physical ability to perform duties such as stripping, finishing, buffing and carpet extraction. Ability to work independently and as a team.

  • Job Type: Part-time-12 hours per week
  • Salary: $8.25 /hour

Lifeguards

We are looking for reliable Lifeguards to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. The lifeguard will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Position requires a full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions, intense heat from the sun, and irregular hours. Must be 16 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community First Aid/CPR/AED and emergency oxygen for the professional rescuer, have a criminal records check and drug screen, and maintain a valid Lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross or equivalent.

  • Job Type: Part-time-20 hours per week
  • Salary: $7.50 /hour
Swim Instructors

We are looking for reliable Swim Instructors. Swim Instructors provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.  Position requires a full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions, intense heat from the sun, and irregular hours. The position is indoor and outdoor swimming pool environment and requires automobile travel to branches. Verbal communication and the ability to transfer knowledge and swimming concepts is crucial to the success of this position. Must be 16 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community First Aid/CPR/AED, and emergency oxygen for the professional rescuer. Must have a criminal records check and drug screen, maintain a valid Swim Instructor certification through the YMCA or equivalent.

  • Job Type: Part-time-Up to 19 hours per week (hours depend on swim lesson registrations)

Fitness Coach

We are looking for a part-time fitness coach at our Albany Branch. The position will assist with member fitness analysis and orientation, equipment maintenance, cleaning, and repair, conduct building checks, and other duties as assigned. Must have a working knowledge of all machinery and maintain a cooperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers, and members.

  • Job Type: Part-time-up to 19 hours per week
  • Salary: $7.25 /hour
Group Instructor

We are looking for a part-time group instructor at our Albany Branch. The position will lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes. Position will answer questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Required to keep accurate class attendance records and follow YMCA policies and procedures & be prepared to respond to emergency situations. Must have one year of experience trach a group wellness class and be certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE,NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Excercise certification.

Water Aerobics Instructor

We are looking for a part-time water aerobics instructor.  The instructor must hold a National Certification in this Field (NASM, AFAA, ACE, AEA, Fitour) and must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the properties of water and how to apply them to aqua fitness training.  Additionally, the instructor must have the ability to design an aqua fitness program for class settings or personal training in the pool.

Personal Trainers

We are hiring for a part-time personal trainer.  Personal trainers must have the ability to create individual program sessions for one on one or small group formats, and for all age groups and abilities.  Trainers must hold a National Certification in this field (NASM, AFAA, AEA, ACE, Fitour), and be hired on by the YMCA as a staff member.  Independent contractors will not be hired.

Youth Development

Counselors (Afterschool, and Summer Camp; All Facilities/Sites)

We are looking for reliable counselors to serve in our Youth Development Department.  Counselors will serve a group of 15 youth, helping them to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA day camp.  Counselors will assist in daily lesson plans and sever and lead participants in all activities.  Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check and drug screen.

  • Job Type: Part-time—up to 19 hours per week
  • Salary: $7.50/hour Central/Sports Park/Lee, $8.00 Y.E.S.
 Bus Driver

We are looking for reliable bus drivers for our Afterschool program.  Bus drivers are responsible for safely picking children up from local schools (Lee and Dougherty County) and delivering them to each of the YMCA Afterschool sites (Lee Site, Central Facility, and Y.E.S. Site).  The Albany Area YMCA requires that each driver have the following documentation completed for approval to drive an Albany Area YMCA bus.  This documentation will be in each driver’s YMCA employee file.

  • Valid GA Driver’s License
  • Driver must be at least 21 years old
  • 3-year Motor Vehicle Report without any record of driving violations
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Satisfactory Completion of the Bus Driver Training

 In addition, drivers must complete a criminal records check and drug screen.

  • Job Type: Part-time—between 10 and 12 hours per week

 Bus Monitor

We are looking for reliable bus monitors to serve in our Afterschool program.  Monitors are responsible for maintaining records of bus riders traveling to our afterschool program from local schools, as well as maintaining order and resolving issues on the bus.  Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check and drug screen.

  • Job Type: Part-time—between 10 and 12 hours per week

Membership Services Representative/ Front Desk

We are looking for reliable front desk workers.  Membership Services Representatives are responsible for the registration and check-in of members, as well as program registration and payment collection for any fees due.  Reps are also responsible for answering phones, replying to emails, providing facility tours, and answering any questions about membership or programs held at or by the YMCA.  Must have experience with computers and data entry, as well as an outgoing personality.  Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check and drug screen, and must take 4 hours of customer service training after hiring.

KidZone Staff

We are looking for reliable Kidzone staff.  Kidzone staff are responsible for the supervision and safety of children present in our Kidzone area (ages 6 weeks to 12 years), as well as changing diapers, engaging the children, and providing a stimulating environment while the parent is working out within the facility.  Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check and drug screen.

Gym Monitor

We are looking for dedicated Gym Monitors for our pickup sports game.  Gym monitors are responsible for the safety and security of the basketball courts during lunch and evening times.  In addition to supervising the games to ensure team rotation, scoring, and timing, the gym monitor is responsible for the cleanliness of the gym areas, the safety of patrons, and adherence to rules within the gyms.  Must be 18 years of age or older, hold a current certificate in community first aid & CPR, have a criminal records check, and drug screen.
